The two Davids stared at each other once again, resuming there mental battle. However, this time both were giving it their all. Serenity fell back for a moment, and smiled.

"What are you smiling about?" Concussion seethed. Suddenly Serenity flew forward and punched him in the face again.

"The FUCK?!?!" Concussion responded, recovering almost immediately. The attack didn't hurt, but it did piss him off. A lot. "The fuck is wrong with you?!"

Serenity smiled at him and lifted his middle finger at Concussion in a rude gesture.

"Oh, no... you did NOT just do that." Concussion responded. Before they could continue the fight, however, Serenity turned around and flew away. Concussion just about snapped with rage.

"I don't care if it DOES cause a paradox, I am going to murder my past self here and now!!!" Concussion followed, so enraged that when he passed a flock of geese he just snapped all of their necks with his thoughts just because he needed to vent.

Aria stared up, watching as Serenity increasingly pissed off Concussion. Aria sweated a little, knowing what was to come should he fail. "I pray to God you know what you're doing..."

Suddenly, Aria was pelted by a bunch of dead geese falling to Earth. Aria blinked for a moment, not sure just what happened, and then it finally registered.

"Okay, ewww."

Concussion chased Serenity all the way to the Sun, the anger in his eyes growing in his eyes every second of the chase. Due to the fact that there was no air in space, the two continued to converse using thoughts. "Alright, smartass. You've chosen the place where you want to die. How's about I just toss you into the sun and then cause it to go nova, killing everybody on Earth except for little Aria, who I am going to torture slowly first, and then leave her to rot on a dying world. WON'T THAT BE FUN?!"

"The hell is wrong with you?" Serenity asked.

"THAT GIRL IS WHAT IS WRONG! EVERY WAKING MOMENT SHE HAUNTS ME! SHE'S DEAD!! SHE WAS KILLED BY SOME UNKNOWN KILLER!!! AND YET SHE CONTINUES TO LIVE IN MY MIND, NEVER GIVING ME A MOMENT'S PEACE! WHY CAN'T SHE JUST DIE?!?!" The sheer emotion of hatred and sorrow in his voice echoed throughout the silence of space, and the words hit Serenity in the heart, realizing exactly what was motivating not only Concussion, but his future Serenity side as well. Concussion started to laugh. "But now... now I have a chance... a chance to snuff her out forever. And then I can forget her. The way she looked. The way she sang. The way she smelled... but first I need to get you out of the way for that to work."

"I pity you." Serenity finally said.

"What."

"All of this... just because you want to forget one person? It's downright sad and pathetic. Do you know Aria's history? It took her over one thousand years to forgive herself for what she had done. Do you honestly think you can fix everything by killing her yourself? All you'll do is compound your misery."

"Sh-SHUT UP!" Concussion screamed, striking with everything he had in a single blast of mental power. "Do I look like I want to be forgiven? I just want to be rid of her memory! I just want to be at peace!"

"Then I shall grant you that wish." And Serenity retaliated, and his determination to stop Concussion was stronger than Concussion's desire to destroy Aria and Serenity. Concussion screamed, grabbing his head as his existence began to fluctuate, to pulsate throughout the fabric of the universe.

And all the while, one girl's face was in his mind the whole time.

"Aria... why... couldn't I... save you?"

And with that, David's mad future self faded from sight.
